Ladies teams compete for league lead

OLDTOWN — The Morning Glories regained the top spot at the Lucky Ladies league here Oct. 4, but just barely. They stand at 16-4 with No Pins Left Behind hot on their heels at 15-5. Country Lane Sparklers currently hold third position at 9.5-10.5, followed by Country Lane 9-11, Golden Girls 6-14, and Balls-y Broads 4.5-7.5.

Kim Rusho had the week’s high scratch game with a 188, as well as the week’s high scratch series at 521 and the third-best handicap series with a 623. Barbara Bell bowled a 238 high handicap game and second-best 643 handicap series. Lennie Miller earned the week’s high handicap series with a 659, and the week’s third-highest scratch series and handicap game with scores of 470 and 233, respectively.

Converted splits included: Betty Balison 3-10, Carol Becks 3-10, Barbara Bell 5-6-10, Miller 4-9, Barb Mix 3-10, Liz Pope 3-10, Pat Shiels 2-7, Sharon Smith 3-10.
