Sidney Thompson, 82

Sidney Jay Thompson (Sid), 82, passed away Aug. 27,  2012 at Applewood Living Center, Longmont, Colo.

Sid was born in Pinedale, Wyo., to John and Laurel Thompson (both are deceased). He is survived by his three children, Diana Thompson (CO) Dwayne Thompson (ID) and Darwin Thompson (CO). His brothers and sisters, Marjorie Brown (Art Mote) Gaylord Thompson (Marjorie Briggs), Jack Thompson, Judy Sensitaffer, Janet Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Spirit Lake High School in Spirit Lake, Idaho but spent most of his school days in Pinedale.

Sid spent much of his life in the Air Force Reserves (active duty) first as a jet engine mechanic and then working his way up to Flight Engineer on the C5-A Galaxy. He retired as a MSgt in 1990. He flew all over the world and brought back many wonderful gifts from his flights.

After retiring he moved around a lot buying old houses and renovating them, never staying in one town for very long.

The family will hold a memorial service in Pinedale on Sept 29.
