Selkirk defense shuts down Priest River girls 46-13

PRIEST RIVER — The Priest River Lamanna High School Spartan girls dropped a contest against Selkirk here Dec. 1. The Spartans held their own through the first quarter, when they trailed 12-9. In the second quarter, however, the Selkirk defense completely shut down the PRLHS offense. The Spartan girls were limited to two points in the second quarter, blanked in the third quarter, and limited to two again in the final quarter. Meanwhile, the Rangers rolled to a 30-11 halftime lead and a comfortable 41-13 third quarter lead. Karah Fink led Priest River with eight points, Heather Pound scored three, and Liann Kren added two.
