PREP SOFTBALL: Sandpoint outhits West Valley in 14-7 loss

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint’s Ainsley Hull and Peyton Cessna both had multi-hit efforts as the Bulldogs fell to West Valley 14-7 at War Memorial Field on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs took a 7-4 lead into the fourth frame, but the Eagles put up 10 runs in the top half of the inning to take the victory. Even though Sandpoint couldn’t come away with the win on senior night, Cessna, a senior, went a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI single and an RBI triple. Hull, a junior, was 2-for-3 with two singles and a run scored.

Senior Sara Bryson also notched one of Sandpoint’s nine hits on the night. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs outhit West Valley 9-6.

Sandpoint (3-4) will travel to Lake City on Tuesday, April 9, for a doubleheader.
